Partner Meetings
This year at re:Invent has been special because of the opportunities we’ve had to meet with crucial partners we’ve been working with all year. The day started with a breakfast with other top emerging AWS consulting partners along with the AWS Leadership team. I had the opportunity to discuss our journey as an AWS Advance Tier Consulting Partner with other great companies. It was a special opportunity to share and be helped by others on the same journey that we’re on.
Our next meeting brought us together with the AWS Scale Leadership Team at Flight Club, an innovative venue in The Venetian that combines social gatherings with precision darts. We were able to meet with Justin Revand, who has been a big help to us this year in the development of our GenAI offerings, which we recently unveiled. We were able to discuss our 2025 strategy with Justin and gain some valuable feedback from him.
Next, we met with our partners at MontyCloud. MontyCloud has played a big role in our advancement as a Well Architected AWS Partner. Their product enables us to provide value to our customers rapidly when performing Well Architected Reviews, and we talked about some exciting new developments in their toolset that we can take advantage of to reduce the time to value for our clients to minutes instead of days. We’re truly excited to use these new tools for our customers. Shout out to JD Romero and Eric Morrissey for putting together this meeting! It was great to meet with Walter Rogers (CEO) and Venkat Krishnamachari (CPO) as well.
AI Keynote Recap
At this year’s Re:Invent conference, AWS unveiled a series of groundbreaking announcements that signal a pivotal moment in AI development. Drawing parallels to the Wright brothers’ first flight, AWS’s SVP Swami Sivasubramanian illustrated how we’re experiencing a similar convergence of technologies in AI – where years of innovations in neural networks, computing power, and cloud infrastructure are culminating in transformative capabilities.
The announcements centered around three key themes: making AI more accessible, more efficient, and more cost-effective. On the accessibility front, AWS introduced significant updates to Amazon Bedrock, including partnerships with cutting-edge AI companies like Luma AI for video generation and Poolside for code development. The new Bedrock Marketplace now offers access to over 100 specialized foundation models, democratizing access to AI capabilities for businesses of all sizes.
Cost optimization and efficiency took center stage with features like prompt caching and intelligent prompt routing, promising cost reductions of up to 90% and 30%, respectively. SageMaker, AWS’s machine learning platform, received major updates, including flexible training plans and task governance, making it easier for organizations to manage their AI compute resources effectively.
Perhaps most impressively, AWS demonstrated its commitment to real-world impact through customer success stories. Autodesk shared how they’re revolutionizing 3D design with generative AI, while Rocket Companies described how AI is transforming the mortgage industry, saving hundreds of thousands of work hours annually.
Our Team
We ended the day with a team dinner that reminded me why I love working with this group. Beyond the technical discussions, we had the chance to connect personally – something that’s rare in our remote-first world. Each team member shared their key takeaways from the day and how we might apply these new AWS capabilities to upcoming client projects. Looking forward to our final day together tomorrow!
